Signal-critical applications
Communications and data systems may require controlled impedance, low-loss materials and a defined stackup. Start with the electrical requirements and material restrictions rather than a generic industry label.
Thermal and power applications
Lighting, power conversion and energy applications can involve metal-core structures, heavier copper or high-Tg requirements. The correct construction depends on thermal, electrical and mechanical conditions.
Application-specific qualification
Industrial, automotive, medical and aerospace-related applications may bring additional documentation and acceptance requirements. Project suitability needs explicit review; listing an application does not establish a particular certification.
Translate an application into fabrication requirements
An industry name does not fully define a board. Provide the electrical, thermal, mechanical and documentation requirements that matter to the design.
| Application area | Questions for the fabrication package |
|---|---|
| Industrial controls | What environmental, copper and acceptance requirements apply? |
| Communications and RF | Which laminate grades and impedance structures are required? |
| Power electronics | What copper, isolation and thermal-construction constraints apply? |
| Compact electronic assemblies | Does the design need flex, rigid-flex or a defined installed shape? |
| LED and thermal assemblies | How are the dielectric, metal base and mounting specified? |
Qualification remains project-specific
Application examples describe possible design requirements, not completed customer projects or sector certifications. Identify any supplier-qualification documents and product-specific standards early so the available evidence can be reviewed against the actual requirement.
